Aleppo soap
Aleppo soap is a hard soap made in Aleppo, Syria, from olive oil and laurel oil. All four of our bars share the same craft: the oils are cooked with lye and water, poured, cut by hand, stamped and left to air-dry for months, until the outside turns golden and the inside stays olive green.
What changes between them is the laurel oil. The pure olive oil bar has none and a mild olive scent. The 10%, 20% and 40% bars add laurel oil, and the bay scent grows stronger, and the price higher, as the share rises.

Which Aleppo soap should I try first?
Choose pure olive oil for the mildest scent, 10% laurel for a light bay note, 20% for a more noticeable bay scent, or 40% for the deepest bay scent in our range. If you want to compare before choosing a favourite, the Discovery Set contains one of each. Choose by scent, ingredients and budget; a higher percentage is not a skin-treatment rating.
What do 10%, 20% and 40% laurel oil mean?
The percentage describes the laurel berry oil share of the oils used to make the soap. A 20% bar uses 20% laurel oil and 80% olive oil; a 40% bar uses 40% laurel and 60% olive. It does not mean that 20% or 40% of the finished bar is raw laurel oil. Our pure olive bar contains no laurel oil.
Why does 40% laurel Aleppo soap cost more?
It uses more laurel berry oil, which is generally a costlier ingredient than olive oil. Compare price per 100 g as well as price per bar, because ALEPO formulas have different listed weights: 200 g for pure olive, 225 g for 10% and 20%, and 190 g for 40%. A higher price or percentage alone does not prove better quality.
Can I mix different Aleppo soaps in one order?
Yes. Use the product-page builder or Build your box to combine any of our four formulas. Choose a one-time purchase or a subscription. The Discovery Set starts with one of each formula; the Laurel Trio and Duo start with their named combinations. Your selected quantities and final price are shown before you add them to your basket.
How does the ALEPO soap subscription work?
Choose any mix of our four soaps and delivery every 1, 2 or 3 months. The current subscription price for each formula is shown in the purchase selector. These prices apply to each delivery and do not combine with quantity discounts. Skip, pause or cancel in your subscription portal before the next order is processed. Shipping is charged separately unless that delivery qualifies for free shipping.
Why can my Aleppo soap look different from the photo?
Each bar is cut and stamped by hand, so edges, surface marks and the position of the stamp vary. The outer colour also changes as the soap dries and ages. Our 40% laurel bar is the darkest in the range; pure olive is the lightest. Small cosmetic differences are normal, but contact us with a photo if your order appears damaged or incorrect.
